It's not elite privilege. It is simply further proof that progressives don't actually care about the things they squawk about. These issues are just used to control people. If the issue becomes inconvenient, it can be ignored or excused.

In Canada we have a PM who has worn blackface so many times that he is not even sure how many times it happened. He apologized, and it was no big deal.

In May a former opposition leader {conservative}, Stockwell Day, stated that he didn't think Canada was a racist country. Even though he later apologized for the comment {big disappointment for me}, he was cancelled and forced of several boards.
