Its highly suspect that a president wins in a landslide yet republicans cant win the house.

When things dont make sense, look deeper.

The dems had a massive numbers advantage going in.

They lost a SHIT TON of seats. 16, in fact.

If you don't count the 3-R vacancies, the 1-D vacancy, and the treacherous "libertarian" Justin Amash, we're 34 seats down right now.

Republicans will need to flip at least 16 seats this election to get the house back.

Don't get complacent!

It comes down to only two issues as I see it -

  • Coronavirus (seen largely as a Trump failure by normies. We know better, but most voters are retarded. Honestly.)

  • Riots (seen as a dem failure by normies)

That's it.

The economy? A wash. People know it's Trump, but good times cloud judgement. Same thing with wars. People get real sick and tired of wars, but as soon as we have a consistent period of peace, they're like "meh." Education? No one cares. The environment? Same. Too much noise on those issues.

Dem scandals? Again, normies don't give a shit. They say Trump has them, too.

The difference maker may just be enthusiasm. No one likes the democrats. But our side has tons and tons of energy, for all the above mentioned reasons.

  • We KNOW Trump is the basis for our economic recovery

  • We KNOW Trump handled the 'ro largely wisely

  • We KNOW the peace is because of his policies

We also know that a dem win means communism, more lockdowns, more trampling of our rights and freedoms.

My .02.

This was because the normies thought:,” Ok, I wabt to vote fir Reagan, but to be ‘fair’ I’ll balance it iut by voting dem down ballot.

People had NO clue how bad democrats were.’

Yes, straight ticket voting wasn't as common back then, largely because there were conservatives, moderates and liberals in both parties and this was genuine and also explicit.

So you were conservative and pro-life, you had your choice of candidates in each party. But maybe in your state the Senate race was between a conservative pro-life Dem and a liberal Republican. So you chose the Dem even though you also voted for Reagan for prez.

Now that ideology is much more uniform within the parties (but not perfectly uniform), straight ticket voting is far more common.

Also, the parties used to actually work together on legislation. I know it sounds unbelievable, but it's true. Obamacare was the first major legislation passed on a party line. That never should have happened, as we argued at the time - hugely influential legislation that affected literally everyone should never be forced down the country's throat by the majority.

How is voting for somebody with the polar opposite goal “fair”? I’m honestly trying to understand that point out view. It just seems so laughably stupid.

That’s my point.

Sorta...

But again, the Dems lost, what was at the time, a massive amount of seats.

It was seen as a complete disaster for them. Made Tip O'Neil really have to work across the isle with Reagan.

How bad they were? You should see how bad they are right now. The democrats from the 80's and those from now have almost nothing in common.

How much money did he get for the Trump wall in 2016 when the GOP had both houses ?

Fucking zero. He has never done anything but support Dem policy on immigration.

Stop giving him ass coverage that he doesn't deserve. McConnell never ONCE gave a speech asking the House to vote money for the Trump wall in 2016 when the GOP controlled both houses. he is the leader.

Doesn't matter. Both houses work together on everything. McConnell never asked the House to vote one penny for the wall.

Blocked deported for respect violation.

WassermanSchultz 9 points ago +10 / -1

The House does the spending. Not the Senate.

1
DangleBarry 1 point ago +1 / -0

Under the Constitution, spending bills are supposed to originate in the House.

But there's a trick they use to get around that. The Senate will take an old House bill that wasn't signed into law, gut it, and then insert their own spending proposals. End run.

-5
slaphappy2 -5 points ago +2 / -7

You don't know your stuff. Both houses have to pass bills. Back to school.

As a huge right-libertarian that agrees with Rand on probably 95% of issues, absolutely FUCK HIM for those traitorous votes. They weren’t conservative nor libertarian.

I firmly believe the democrats don't have the votes and theyre cheating.

I think theyre about 10% pf the population that convinces 20 more percent to vote for them, and then cheat the last %20 which gives them a 50/50 shot at winning.

I also believe the vast majority of demcorats are morons. I know many, they just watch 1980s brainwash box tv, browse the internet and do random stuff like normal people do. Theyre not out there making a difference. Just being lazy morons trying to blame trump for anything they can. This is why theyre losing and shouldnt ever win an election again imo. Ill never vote for a Democrat ever again and im only 22. I think many need to be locked up. Not all but a lot. The ones inciting the collapse of America should be arrested with strict punishment. The idiots that think cops are killing black people are just retarded fools. They haven't broke and laws so they shouldn't be arrested. What they should be is informed somehow, however possible tbh. The main problem is that they spend all day watching TV shows like big brother and everythibg on old world TV nowadays literally won't he approved unless its proantifa, antiamerica, and preaching about white supremacy while they brainwash black people into thinking they aren't superior when society clearly treats them like they are just because of the color of their skin. Racist as shit. They ate everything they claim to be against

One of the swampiest in modern history, sure. It's not like he's bobbing and weaving in Congress getting mad shit done as leader. The SCOTUS and other judicial nominations are the least he can do.

I hope it’s not the same outcome with a split congress. We could barely get anything passed with both the house and senate because of all the Rinos in 2016-2018.

2018-2020 has been the most annoying year because mainly nothing outside of executive orders has been done. I applaud trump for doing everything he can, but I want permanent laws.

I want people arrested. I’m worried the Dems are gonna cheat to split Congress forever and in 50 years we’re finally going to get both the house and senate and it’s gonna be too late, all the criminals will be dead of natural causes and all their crimes are just gonna be referred to conspiracy things.

McConnell deserves basic credit for not being a Romney-type traitor and doing his job - but please don't forget that the guy never lifted a fucking finger to get a fucking penny for the Trump wall in 2016 when the GOP owned both houses of Congress.
