That also bothers me about Barnett. Lagoa is also Catholic, but not so dogmatic about pope allegiance, seems more based on faith in a real God rather than based on a man God. Morality bases on adherence to dogma is not true moral conviction. Lagoa shows personal moral conviction in her rulings along with constitutional rigor.

More important than mindless faith to a religious dogma is moral conviction based on right vs. wrong such as valuing life, freedom, and principles upon which our nation was founded. It doesn't even require a belief in God, but having faith in a supreme loving and just being with a hope for after life fosters those values.
