Was discussing George Floyd, and she refuses to watch the whole video. She prefers to trust the lies of the media. She is so committed to those lies and the emotionality of it, it's sad.
I realized she was too scared to see (what she believed in) was false, and was defending her view of the situation by any means, even by acknowledged willful , intentional ignorance of truth.
Every time I calmly explained my view and tried to talk, she talked over me, to the point of it being almost like noise to drown me out.
There you have it: Liberalism is the avoidance of truth (even truth they know) for a preferred state of emotion. Emotion over fact.
My mother is asian and is anti-china and anti-communist, but she refuses to give up on the emotional hook the media put into her by showing floyd on the ground, over and over.
To her the police are the criminal, and the liberal media propaganda has done it's damage.
I am sure I could force her to watch the video, but she would be so upset about her sense of righteousness being disrupted, it might change our relationship permanently.

Agreed - my son has his Masters and my grandson works as a heavy equipment operator and makes a ton of money and he's normal.
My liberal friend said the "Trump called white supremacists and neo nazis were very fine people" hoax to me and I posted him a video of the whole quote. He refused to watch it because he knows he's gonna get owned.
Liberals don't like truth. Especially when you have a track record history of getting things right, they start panicking even more. This same friend of mine, he thinks I curse people so that bad things happen to them. Obviously, I don't do such things. I just have deeper insight into the issues and can see patterns that normies and shitlibs refuse to see. My friend is convinced that I'm into witchcraft because bad things happen to people and organizations that I don't like lmao.
Liberals will avoid the truth and replace it with any other insane belief to protect their fragile egos. Before the truth will set you free, it will piss you off. the huge issue with this is people have wrapped their entire identity into being "progressive" being "liberal"... as in " i cant be a bad person like that because i am progressive"
with people you love you cant just shake them or force them out. they will have to do it themselves. give them tiny pills, agree with them when they are correct.
