SEOUL -- Samsung Electronics will close its sole Chinese TV factory in Tianjin at the end of November, the South Korean electronics company said Tuesday, part of a greater trend of businesses shifting supply chains away from China.
Production from the factory will shift to Vietnam, Mexico, Hungary, Egypt and elsewhere. The move makes Samsung's global production more efficient, the company said.
Samsung also shut its smartphone factories in Tianjin and the southern Chinese city of Huizhou before the end of 2019, and the company said in June that it would cease production at a computer factory in Suzhou.
It's a South Korean company but they manufacture stuff all over the world. Samsung is one of the biggest manufacturers in the world these days, actually.
For the TVs, I would bet they manufacure the panels in China still. The other components are made in Mexico, some also probably in Taiwan, but then final assembly occurs in Mexico and it gets a made in Mexico sticker.
The decoupling is happening. Some things will be slower to move away from China than others, just because Asia has such immense manufacturing capacity for semiconductors/PCBs/other electronics, but even that stuff is starting to move to other Asian countries.
Samsung is/was made in South Korea
They actually used to be made in China, but have closed their factories there:

Doesn't matter. If America is losing, we're not having it. America must win.
I remember when things were Made In America
They still make things in Korea. But Korea is small and the world is big. Generally the more expensive smartphones and appliances are made there.
