Samsung used to assemble TVs in Mexico and actually in the US as well. I have one of their American-assembled TVs (CRT). Glad to see they're avoiding China.

I do wonder how well electronics companies can avoid China because most of the rare-earth mining (needed for hi-tech) is done there. Maybe deepsea robotic mining?

The US actually has a huge rare earths mine: https://www.mining.com/round-top-to-establish-us-rare-earths-supply-chain/

We're going to have that all covered pretty soon; biggest issue at this point is the refinement, as that involves some fairly nasty chemicals.

Realistically, we should do the nasty shit in Mexico.
