Manufacturing in Mexico serves as a 2nd 'Wall' of jobs to cut down on illegal immigration.

It also increase the number of US components used in the product.

And most importantly, it denies the Chicoms $ and influence.

exactly, i was gonna post a comment about that. if there's similar wage jobs in mexico then there's less incentive to illegally cross into the united states. of course it's preferable to have those factory jobs here.

Yep a thriving Mexico means an easier path for illegals with a sufficient enough upgrade to warrant going there and easy trade with the US. Make the best stuff in the US, and cheap stuff in Mexico.
