Ditto. Have several solid body electric guitars - I suck as a player but I'm not going the route of learning bass bc it has fewer strings. Though it might seem easier, I know it is not.
the problem learning at an old age is just time. if you quit your job and practiced in a basement for 18 hours a day you'd get good.
i was able to do it because i was still in school when i started so i had tons of leisure time. You can still learn but you have to put in dedication.
when you feel frustrated and like you cant go further, your doing it right. keep going. keep doing what you cannot do repeatedly like a psycho with OCD whos obsessed and cannot stop.
Oh, dont you know it, Pede. My musical road is a dark, shitty back alley. Got ahold of a dirt-cheap acoustic when I was 18-19, started to self-teach/figure it out. Wasnt easy bc the action on that thing was high enough you could walk under the strings if you ducked your head. Joined the Navy and forgot about it. Many years later, after retiring twice, Mrs Puffitt got Warren a fairly sick electric, her rationale - to keep me off the streets with all of my new free time. Youtubes, JustinGuitar and myself have created a shitty playing guitar enthusiast who realized how lazy he really is.
Based 5-string bass.
Anyone else get the Seinfeld theme stuck in their head after this vid?
"It works. Yeah, it works" - Scarlet Witch & Vision (Avengers: Infinity War 2018)
Yeah that was the same thing I thought. This guy does whale on the bass.
The Apprentice theme for me lol
Play that next Tuesday ;)
it's Patrice Rushen's "Forget Me Nots"
I love the look and sound of the Fender Jazz Bass. Always wanted to learn the bass guitar.

Tom Petersson enters the chat, chuckling.
