Yep. I completely agree. When the dust settles we will go over that.

But even here at TD we have all kinds of people making 2A home invasion arguments in favor of Walker/Taylor.

Lolbertarians. They like to forget things like "other laws." Those are the ones I figure we'll have to deal with when the dust settles. (Like how the fuck are we going to have fire departments if you are allowed to shoot at people that you even heard knock because you "didn't hear them identify"? What the fuck kind of standard of use of force is that?)

That didn't sound like your kids' argument though, from the above comments. It sounded more like the "dindu nuffin" argument that the legacy media in general is running with.

That argument is straight up retarded, and it's causing my own home state to be burned down. I think we should go over it right the fuck now.

I would never call myself a garbage man to begin with. I'm a quality man.

If I was selling drugs and wanted a cover story, yes, yes I would refer to myself as a refuse management specialist.

Yes to all of that too. So many reasons why I am not a libertarian. I mean, I value liberty, of course. First principles.

Reason for delay: There are five of us in a small house, two working from home, three schooling from home. You have to tiptoe around in case you interrupt a school or work Zoom. The teenage girls burst into tears and/or get angry every time politics comes up. They can't be reasoned with. The ten year old son just wants to run around outside. It's nuts. That's why I said "when the dust settles."

Are you from KY too? I lived in Louisville as a kid.

I'm a couple miles from Covington, up here in Catholic country. Grew up down the road a bit. I'm just about as KY as they come.

Just out of curiosity, have you tried the whole "change my mind" thing on them yet? It's a great way to approach people that are too emotional for political debate.

Super cool. I love KY. I would consider moving to western KY. I live in Austin now (ugh).

It's funny you should ask. My oldest (now 17) used to really love Crowder. I thought she was turning into a conservative (quietly). Then suddenly, SJW seemed to hit.

However, I was briefly an idiot too in my late teens/early 20s.

If we can calm down the conversation, maybe we could get them to at least watch some Crowder or Shapiro or Dave Rubin doing some of those conversations. Truly they might change their minds if they would just open them up to facts instead of teenage feeeeeelings.
