Like, it's been nearly 4 years. They've had 4 years to find something concrete. Normally a judge would tell the investigators to stop harassing a person at that point and either close the file or shutter it away cause it's gone cold at that point.
The FBI hasn't found anything concrete and had to fabricate. Any international investigative bodies(who don't have as much to lose for bringing forth actual evidence against Trump) have offered nothing that sticks. The smallest things have to be spun into a tizzy("I saw Marsha by the forest" levels of mountain out of molehill discussion.)
At this point all he's doing is just protecting his seat cause he may well get voted out if his constituents aren't happy with him at least not trying.
