most of us say that we 'hope' to this time around because Trump is an entirely different type of candidate. That and we are the state that produced Reagan (which ironically fucked us via amnesty for illegals). Trump has turned MANY MANY MANY democrats into temporary Republicans and I'm okay with that. That and I live in one of the bluest areas in California...I've been seeing more and more US flags going up and there have been two public Trump rallies. Even a large business towering over Hwy 101 with a massive Trump 2020 flag visible by EVERYONE entering the silicon valley area. It's one of the only ways into silicon valley. Also, if you don't think you can be a conservative and live in California, you're not the sharpest tool in the shed "pede". Some people do prioritize having things to do, places to see and near perfect weather all year regardless of politics. It beats the hell out of the necessity of needing to be indoors with an AC or face wretched humidity. There is a reason the property is 1/8 the price. I should know, I'm one of the one's fleeing California very soon to a southern but not so southern state that faces said horrid humidity.
It's because CA has a very large population, and more people voted for Democrats than Republicans.
