Cyprus became a much smaller money laundering location when they decided to enact a "one-time" wealth tax on all the bank accounts in the country. That killed things for them.
I remember plenty on the left talking about it under Obama (including Obama himself). They will definitely try this. If they succeeded, it would in one fell swoop absolutely kill the entire banking and investment industries. There would be a run on the banks the likes of which we haven't seen since the start of the Great Depression.
Does anyone remembers Ron Brown.... he helped loot the Haitian treasury and was part of Bill Clinton’s cabinet.... the level of corruption is in paralleled!
