TBH, I rarely go out anymore. We still have one of the most restrictive lockdowns in the country and many people (myself included) are working from home these days. The only time I leave my apartment is to walk to my local deli and grocery stores. Occasionally I will pick up lunch from a local restaurant, but usually I get delivery.
Most of the riots have been downtown, but when the happen further north, they come to my area because it's traditionally been a major tourist attraction (Hollywood Walk of Fame, etc).
It already seemed post-apocalyptic out here before the riots started due to the explosion of homeless - the homeless are still here and now we have a lot of BLM graffiti on building in my neighborhood.

Yeah, I hear you - I lived in NYC for a long time (Manhattan and Brooklyn) - only moved to LA in late 2013.
