I apologize pedes for my shoulders are not broad enough and my brain too smooth for the task at hand, but all the same I seek to spread the light that is the GEOTUS.
I am in a group, let's not call them friends, and I try to always show them the light but one of them is a full on deranged communist that is my antithesis. While usually his points I can wrangle with and hold my own I'm certainly struggling with his latest thrust and it has to do with the faithful electors plan that Pres has. While for me I can just shrug it off and see it as a safeguard against the insane voter fraud that is going to happen with the mail in voting he is convinced that "this is finally it, Trump is seizing power!" and "He wont commit to a peaceful transition he's the Fascist we always said he was!"
My counter argument I want to be two pronged, the first being emphasizing the issues with mail in voting and then the second I want to show that the measures he is taking are necessary and legal. Any help in finding sources on these two points or giving me points/counter points for a debate would be sincerely appreciated as I would not like to give ground to this lunatic and risk ceding a pool of potential Trump supporters. The "faithful electors plan' presumes that there will be many states where litigation has prevented them from calling the winner, (caused by problems with mail in votes.) There are only five states with experience in all mail voting, and they took many years to perfect their systems and make sure they were secure. But that isn't likely. The real plan b, which the democrats don't want to see, is that if the electoral college does not, can not meet, the whole thing moves to the House. The dems have the majority but it doesn't matter. Each state has one member of the house allowed to vote, one vote. Fifty total. And there are more republican states than dem. CA gets one vote, NY gets one vote. See where this goes? Notice the sudden shift by AOC and Hillary to recommending in person voting? They know.
Now THIS is helpful. The plan is to force a call during the election rather than infinite litigation and vote counting. Got it. Do you have any sources or anything to back this up. Literally every piece of news I find on this is the fake news saying Trump is trying to steal the election.
I would ask him if he considers it a peaceful transition of power to weaponize the executive branch to stifle the incoming president elect.
I would bring up the fact that Hillary has said Biden should not concede the election. Soros affiliated groups are warfaming out the election and planning out strategies for seizing power in the event things don’t go their way.
Biden has an army of lawyers to litigate the 11th hour voting rule changes.
Doesn’t sound to me that Biden plans to go peacefully either.
Not to mention dems haven’t lost a fair election in 50 years. From Hillary to Gore they still whine. Stacy Abrams still claims she is governor of Georgia.
Everything you said is 100% correct and I completely believe the dems to be in the wrong. They are lying and manipulative and seeking to dispute the election by flooding it with mail in voting. But all those points are whataboutisms.
Obama spying on Trump and the whole Obamagate scandal doesn't matter in his electors plan as far as I can tell.
Hillary telling Biden to do something isn't something Biden has said and so I wont be able to use that against him in an argument. Now if one of his head staff said it then we have something.
Biden's lawyers and his underhandedness is disgusting but it's not something I can use in a debate because I always try to put Trump on the pedestal he deserves in that he is trying to play by the rules and trying to avoid dirty politicking. This is something my communist counterpart revels in, encouraging Biden to play "as dirty as necessary" in an attempt to "stop the fascist".
Like I said, this guy is deranged but I have to fight this good fight to try and save others. The whole point of this is that I'm not stooping to his level, where he recognizes that Biden is trash but that he still will vote for him because he sees him as better than Trump. Trump is not trash, he is stalwart and is a Godsend to our nation so I can't take easy outs in these debates.

As someone who does this as well. You’re debating someone whose ideology is based on emotional rage and anger not logic. Even presenting damning evidence to this communist will not cause them to rethink their position. Roughly 4-6% of the population is a lost cause. If people in 2020 cannot see first hand experience of what Trump has done for the USA, they’re a lost cause. Ignorance is a choice. Some people can be flipped, communists cannot.
I’m not trying to flip him, I’m trying to flip the others in the group. He’s my opponent in this fight and if I can’t provide compelling points and counterpoints in the debates then it weakens my position.
Then appeal to the group individually. Trying to debate a leftist is futile. Speak to each individual and address their issues in an one on one situation. Weaken the chain by hitting each link. Best of luck fren, only saying this to save you time and frustration.
