On Sullivan side, he wants to drag this out til after the election, so to keep the narrative that Flynn is corrupt.
On the Powell side, she did indeed know that the more they drag, the more evidence will come out, so she played along. This strategy is what made me not get angry at Sullivan's move.
HOWEVER, the regular peoplekind who don't follow this Flynn story will still think Flynn is guilty. So I don't think Sullivan is a white hat, it's just that they don't care if more information come out, as it won't change anyone's mind.

Sullivan was a childhood hero to Powell. His moves on this case are interesting and many here (on Reddit) felt he was a solid judge before the case started. Maybe he is a white hat wearing a black hat. It's hard to determine because they are so stupid. The documents not only bolster Flynns case but also the Russian collusion hoax investigation.

If the case was done a year ago or never started a lot of sleeper cells would still run around.
