"At one time" being like less than 10 years ago. The left didn't go absolutely, fully insane until around 2012, emboldened by Obama's re-election, and then descended into deranged, inconsolable rage when Trump won in 2016.

Hell, go back to 2008 and some of the shit Obama said about illegal migration and border control would be branded "Trumpian" today.
