Imagine being the Laura Louisiana woman who has nothing better to do with her life than follow around Republican senators on twitter and tell them how to do their job. Embarassing.

Ted Cruz is a Harvard trained lawyer... just how long does Laura Louisiana think it takes him to craft a 4-word tweet??

He’s had more of a sense of humor after being destroyed by Trump. He was like a phoenix born again. I’ve always like his words and his ideas on the constitution but he was a little plastic. He’s just more real now and he is actually funny. I say all this with the most respect for Cruz. I’ve always been a fan but he wasn’t as relatable and would’ve never beat killary/billary.

I voted for Cruz in the primaries. I wasn't sure Trump would deliver on judges as well as I expected Cruz would. Trump has definitely come through on that, though.

27
stjimmy92 27 points ago +27 / -0

I like to think Cruz was like this before becoming a politician, but felt he had to change to be successful. After Trump showed him the truth he relaxed and is being himself again.

16
bassword_is_benis 16 points ago +16 / -0

I somewhat agree. After destroying himself all the way up to just before the official nomination at the RNC in 2016 he has definitely found his inner long-game, but the lead-up to his turn-around is what still leaves me (although I'm glad he's Lion Ted now) still incredulous.

10
Sodium_miner 10 points ago +10 / -0

He was probably a blast in college. LULZ I just recall the fake ass photo shoot and he was always so robotic now he’s a new man. I liked the old Cruz but I love the new Cruz.

Right on! I believe Trump did what he had to do to win. Guess he was still trying to figure who was deep state and who was a patriot. The fact that Cruz didn’t take it personal and got on board for the win made me respect him more.

3
kekNation 3 points ago +3 / -0

I think he’ll do what is best for the country. He would be a strong contender for next presidential candidate and draining the swamp would be a big boost for him.

-1
FlimboFlongins -1 points ago +1 / -2

How the fuck has everyone just forgotten Trey Gowdy? Does he seem like a back down kinda shill? He became disgusted on what you have to do in Washington just to get basic things done, and he would wreck mother fuckers as the AG. None of this "Hopes n Dream Barr" Bullshit. What a Snow Job so far. Our victories should be titanic. Our skulls stacked to the ceiling. What's the problem here?

Hillary alone is guilty of how many Felonies? Wake the fuck up people!

10
kekNation 10 points ago +10 / -0

Nope. Gowdy went shill on his way out. He went about as negative as you can without going full turncoat.

Nobody is going to trust him for something as big as draining the swamp. He is a good talker and I’m sure he was a great prosecutor, but when the heat was turned up Gowdy melted.

Russiagate revealed a lot. Nunes shrunk without melting. Ryan was revealed as a rat. Rand Paul was as consistent as we knew he would be. Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley and Tom Cotton rose to the occasion.

I hate it because Gowdy is who I wanted when Sessions was appointed. If he had been appointed back then it probably would have been best for everyone, but he didn’t stand up to the politic bullshit well.

1
FlimboFlongins 1 point ago +1 / -0

There was no dirt on him. Back channel talk was that incredible pressure was placed on him, and he couldn't get what he needed for his constituents, because he wouldn't bend on certain things, as they violated his ethics, bigly.

2
kekNation 2 points ago +2 / -0

I don’t think I suggested dirt on Gowdy. I just said that he was no ally.

He was throwing low key shade at Trump in interviews and there were strong rumors that he was going off on Trump and calling him an idiot off the record.

Again, I don’t hate the guy but why would Trump trust him as AG? In the second term Trump’s two biggest decisions will be AG and head of FBI He can’t screw either of those up again. Gowdy is too risky.

Cruz has been rock solid and Cruz is a superior legal mind.

1
FlimboFlongins 1 point ago +1 / -0

That's fair. I was thinking outside of just Trump, and the friction he encountered. If you're isolated from deal, and can't build political capital, you're ineffective in representing your constituents. That seemed to come out towards the end, and after walking away.

Cruz will always be Lyin Ted to me. :) He's had some great political advisor/consultants, including image consultants. He's a well crafted machine.

1
Bigus_Dickus 1 point ago +2 / -1

It was VERY disappointing but Gowdy showed himself to be compromised. Both him and to a slightly lesser degree Jason Chavitz were seemingly fantastic "future stars" of the GOP and then the Deep State blatantly knee capped both of them who in turn went whimpering into the night and onto cable news where the rest of the charismatic sellouts(((they all draw paychecks from the powers that be))) reside.

I know it usually ends in disappointment(Gowdy being the perfect example) but I force myself to hold out hope that Tucker and Mark Steyn somehow aren't controlled op..

1
FlimboFlongins 1 point ago +2 / -1

Points well taken. They never really cross that (((Line))). Without addressing it, and dealing with it, we die the death of 1000 cuts, through asymmetrical warfare which has been waged against European Peoples since Rome was penetrated by the Virus.

TRUMP taught a hard nosed fighter how to do the art of Politcal Judo. Ted has more energy and more power because he has embraced it. Its amazing to see. Lion Ted indeed.

53
VictorReee 53 points ago +54 / -1

Being stumped by the GEOTUS is the first step in being transformed. You can become a based Lion like Ted, or you can let it define you an cling to your defeat forever like Hilary. It's kind of the ultimate test of character.

29
Msmcontrolsnarrative 29 points ago +31 / -2

Being a hard-core Trump supporter from the start, it has taken me a long while to warm up enough to Ted Cruz to consider him as a future presidential candidate, but this has done it. He will have my vote.

4

I am too, but I wish Cruz had campaigned a little harder.

Oh well, a reasonably close race makes them think they can turn Texas blue this year and I'm happy for them to waste their money and time trying.

8
commies0ride0free 8 points ago +8 / -0

Ted is great not only because he actually recognizes comedy, unlike 95% of our government, but since Trump has been elected I haven’t seen him go against the President, he’s supported his agenda at almost every turn (maybe all but I’m sure there’s something)

That’s how you know it’s gg and he just wants the best for the country

2
zabbers 2 points ago +2 / -0

Hillary made her pact with the devil. She wouldn't know based if it threw her into a van like a side of beef. Better examples would be Bloomberg or Kasich. No legitimate reason for them to hate Trump except that they're jealous beta losers. (also Kasich is really low IQ and Bloomberg is short)

They could learn from example and man up but they choose not to.

5
HuggableBear 5 points ago +5 / -0

Trump showed the entire world that stoically accepting the bullshit gets you nothing and that you win by dragging your balls across your enemies' faces.

Some learned the lesson, some did not. Cruz learned it very quickly.

3

2
PotatoFarmer20 2 points ago +2 / -0

Mine as well. He was subject to an illicit FISA warrant as well. With that, he learned that TRUMP and him were the only two that scared the deep state. Aka, TRUMP can be trusted and TRUMP was going to bring the pain.

He embraced the MAGA movement (although I think he was always in favor of it in some shape, way, or form)

And he embraced meme culture as a way to spread his message and connect with audiences. He recognizes that memes will start to hold more and more political clout as time goes on and is taking a head start in adopting it.

9
redditcansuckme 9 points ago +9 / -0

He's clever in that he's realised that "meme" doesn't simply mean rage guy comics or fucking "Pokemon GO TO THE POLLS". Memes are subtle and you actually have to have your finger on the pulse to get them.

12
Brucesky420 12 points ago +12 / -0

I give a lot of credit to Trump for doing it, but of course Ted deserves credit for embracing Trump and the memes. He's my senator, and I'm proud that he's my senator, but ever since Trump became president he's really stepped up to the plate and I've been very pleased with Cruz. He's not perfect (no politician ever is), but in terms of most other senators he's one of the best. I just need him to fight harder to try and get more things done, we really need our senators to step up and push for Barr to start taking action - I'm sick of nothing getting done by our DOJ

11
Kweebecker 11 points ago +11 / -0

It's a solid fact that no one can vouch for his location during some of those incidents. "Not born yet", pah, what a weak alibi, anyone could say that. I say with solidity I was also "not born yet", and I can't vouch for him being with me at the time.

2
JediDwag 2 points ago +2 / -0

The Ted Cruz redemption arc is still one of my favorite storylines.

This tweet is fucking hilarious. I love it. It's so easy to just not take things too seriously and sling a little shit now and then with a wink and a smile, but so many politicians are just too fucking stuffed to be relatable or have a sense of humor. Props to Ted man. What a baller.

You cannot set a new frame, they set the frames, no one else. They will never play in your jokes, because you lack the legitimacy to create a joke. All jokes must be centrally created and approved by the party apparatus. Any outside creation is to judged with hostility no matter how well it appeals to human characteristics like irony, humor. The party feels nothing, it only knows it is supreme.

fundamental level

They have a deep seated insecurity that originates from deep seated self loathing. They build an armor based on superiority around them to hide this. Any words that may put a chink in that armor triggers them immensely. Since the sense of superiority is not based on reality, its a very fragile armor and can easily get triggered, sometimes without even trying to.

This is why they are always so angry, and so triggered, and not open to reason.

Alien 3

Only in the Assembly Cut, which is the closest to his vision.

1
stonepony 1 point ago +1 / -0

Don't think I've seen that version.

Honestly, I've never had trouble judging a movie based what it's trying to do, instead of automatically contrasting it against movies that are considered high art. It's entertainment junk food, and I thought it was awesome entertainment junk food.

Just like, Judge Dredd and Iron Eagle and Biodome.

1
HeavenPiercingMan 1 point ago +1 / -0

I wish I could erase Judge Dredd from history. Even today I get random millenials dismissing or just being clueless about Karl Urban's Dredd because the Sly shitfest is so persistent in the zeitgeist.

Back to Alien 3, you definitely gotta watch the longer cut. A whole subplot gets reinserted, the prisoners are more defined instead of glorified extras, and a character that got forgotten gets a proper end. And it gives it time to breathe so that you get into the setting instead of hurrying from scene to scene. It's not perfect (there were more cool scenes in the potato quality workprint that didn't get reinserted) but it made me love the movie despite me hating it with a passion during the 90's.
