No one seems to have much evidence on the "why ACB is bad" assertion. It just gets picked up and repeated.

I just pointed out on another thread that ACB used to be loved on thedonald even when we were the_donald, constantly plastering her face up whenever RBG had a health scare and now that Trump might pick her, everyone has changed their mind in support of another lady no one has ever posted about before. It's honestly bizarre.

Basically their argument is “Pope bad, ACB is Catholic, therefore ACB is bad”. The Pope sucks but ACB isn’t attached at the hip to Dope Francis. She’ll be great. NOMINATE! CONFIRM!

No it isn't. Lagoa is catholic too. But she hasn't said anything about judges recusing over religion or being in churches that speak tongues.

It's because she has stated previously that in moral/religiously leaning topics she looks to the Pope and goes with the decision that sides with the Pope.

That's not a Catholic thing. That's a her thing. I don't even dislike the Pope, but his opinions are irrelevant to US politics and policies and should never be considered, especially by a supreme court justice.

I don't think anyone really knows anything. There's the lockdown ruling but if that was narrowly decided then a judge's options are limited. It was a unanimous decision on the panel which included another Trump appointee. Then all this "wacky religious stuff" that I swear is coming straight from ActBlue talking points.

I think people liked the idea of her but being so close to the election makes lagoa far pragmatic and better. Besides, they are all old so if he wins more than likely acb will get on soon.

lockdown order citing precedent that justified the japanese internments, generally favors state and corporations in cases, is not just christian but part of groups that speak tongues which is wacky as fuck for the vast majority of people

Shit she speaks in tongues and lets people know about it, well, that MUST mean she's a pro-trans flaky cuckwife, according to some of the logic here.

Thanks. I'm looking around for something by a legal expert I already trust.

I feel like this is a psyop. There were so many pro-Barrett articles over the years and now all of a sudden conservatives are sounding the alarm? Makes no sense.

Edit: this is National Review but Ed Whelan is great on SCOTUS. Here he is on Barrett and 2A: https://www.nationalreview.com/bench-memos/judge-barrett-on-the-second-amendment/

Watch Viva Freis LIvestreams with Robert Barnes. I trust his judgement and he hates her. As I'm not a legal expert, I'm included to trust Barnes fully. Basically she's going to be another roberts

I like Robert Barnes but I don't think he knows much about constitutional law.

IDK ... he seems well versed tbh. It seems ACB is a NEOCON type. Let's hope he is wrong. I hope she will be a good justice.

He is well versed in many things, but I don't recall him having much to say about SCOTUS. Barrett got all the fab reviews when she went to the 7th circuit. Neocon doesn't bother me re: SCOTUS because it's more of a foreign policy thing. I don't think she's going to be a Roberts. He is more of a problem because he's compromised.

Edit: this is National Review, but Ed Whelan is great on SCOTUS. https://www.nationalreview.com/bench-memos/judge-barrett-on-textualism-and-originalism/

and on 2A: https://www.nationalreview.com/bench-memos/judge-barrett-on-the-second-amendment/
