That's great news but fines should never have been imposed on the first place

68
Flcentipede [S] 68 points ago +68 / -0

It was mayors and local city/county councils imposing the fines. Mostly Democrats. Under new order no local government can impose fines for masks, restaurants and bars must be allowed to open to at least 50% capacity, and any limitations below 100% must be supported by actual scientific evidence and will be subjected to scrutiny. Movie theaters too. Desantis also said we must have a full stadium for the Super Bowl in January, and wants fans back in stadiums now. Best Governor of a large state in the US, hands down.

I get so pissed off when I see this going on in other states and a place like Texas where I live feels like I'm in CA. I'm happy this happening for Florida because someone needs to start breaking up this media/dem generated narrative. Hopefully it will start to move to other states like ours.

This is what I've been saying. When conservative governors give the freedom of decision to local democrat officials, the democrats officials use that freedom to take away the freedom of their citizens.

In every case, you need to require that local gov cannot pass any more stringent regulations than those required by the state.

3
treefork 3 points ago +3 / -0

Imagine the booing if they kneel or pull any other kind of BLM BS...

2
MAGAguitar 2 points ago +2 / -0

Wonderful news. Does this order then override local mask ordinances or just remove the fines? Or is it one and the same? In other words, do local businesses still have the power to require masks and deny entrance despite their being no fine? Genuinely curious how this will play out in some of the more restrictive counties.

8
Flcentipede [S] 8 points ago +8 / -0

Businesses can do what they want, but local govt can’t force them to mandate masks. Can’t imagine many businesses will keep requiring them.

4
MAGAguitar 4 points ago +4 / -0

Hope FL businesses will want fewer Branch Covidians and more Based Patriots.

4
SkeletorsTeeth 4 points ago +4 / -0

wondered the same...will stores in florida get the message or will they still "require" masks...im tired of shopping only at wal mart because I know they wont hassle me for not wearing a mask

3
MAGAguitar 3 points ago +3 / -0

Guess it will play out, store-by-store and regionally over the weekend until the dust settles.

The fact that they existed at all says alot.

20
Liberty4All 20 points ago +20 / -0

Mask mandates never existed statewide. Some counties and cities imposed them.

Gov. DeSantis didn't take action to stop the local mandates until today.

As of now our local school district is saying that this doesn't apply to them - they say that the kids (and staff and visitors) still have to wear masks. We'll see how that plays out.

14
AnacondaIsAShill 14 points ago +14 / -0

DeSantis is slinging his cock all over the place today!

9
TheSHazDroid 9 points ago +10 / -1

I can go to the store and not wear a mask?

15
Flcentipede [S] 15 points ago +15 / -0

Yep. In theory the store could ask you to put one on, but there is no penalty for them or for you if you dont. I imagine most stores will stop the nonsense immediately rather than piss off customers. I had been seeing more and more people in Publix with no masks before this, and no one said anything to them, and that was when the fines were still technically possible.

10
ElectricChad 10 points ago +10 / -0

Walmart here in Pasco stopped giving people shit for not wearing them. It will be interesting to see what other businesses like Target, Publix etc. will do. Love our based Governor!

1
Ccjunque 1 point ago +1 / -0

Publix stores in Pinellas and Hillsborough have not harassed us at all this past month.

7

Smubbs 3 points ago +3 / -0

I'm going to a movie at disney springs tomorrow. couldn't they make me leave? i mean.. they're not gonna physically touch me right? and I'd imagine the cops aren't gonna do shit?

I wanna know how far I can push this tomorrow.

7
SkeletorsTeeth 7 points ago +7 / -0

disney are mask commies from what ive heard....i live near disney(hate disney)...they will kick you out of the place fast

3
Smubbs 3 points ago +3 / -0

how? they're not gonna physically remove me? The executive order states businesses should refuse service to people not wearing a mask EXECPT those with certain medical conditions. It's against the law for them to ask me about my medical history. Couldn't I sue under the ADA?

4
JeremiahKassin 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yep. But Disney has better lawyers. And they won't even let you INTO Disney Springs without a mask on. If you take it off once you're inside, you'll be swarmed by Disney employees who will harass you until you put it back on or you leave. There used to be a food exception, but now they expect you to take the mask off, take a bite, then put it back on while you chew.

5
Smubbs 5 points ago +5 / -0

How is that not discrimination against my medical conditions?

5
JeremiahKassin 5 points ago +5 / -0

It is. But Disney doesn't care. Disney writes the laws they like, and pays congressmen to pass it.

2
Cyer6 2 points ago +2 / -0

Who would pay that kind of money to go to place like that where it's hot as the sun's surface, stand in line 95% of the time and be forced to wear a mask the whole time? You've got to be insane to do that. I won't even go there in normal times.

2
JeremiahKassin 2 points ago +2 / -0

I agree, but there aren't lines right now, either. No one's going. I've seen videos, and the parks are empty.

2
Smubbs 2 points ago +2 / -0

Not me. Disney springs is just an outdoor mall

2
SkeletorsTeeth 2 points ago +2 / -0

only telling you stories ive heard on the news....many times at universal and disney people refused to wear masks and they forced them to leave....its BS just warning you thats what they do

6
sometimescanbefunny 6 points ago +6 / -0

Yeah, I just walk in- not in FL, but another state with a cucked rule in place. Just walk in and nobody says anything

3
AnointedVisions 3 points ago +3 / -0

I'm in AZ. We have these "orders" but nobody says a damn thing.

Ok well I went to my bank and they made me, but I had to go inside in person to do something so I had no choice to bust out the DTOM gaiter I keep in the vehicle just for those occasions.

Other than that, I go into gas stations, CVS, whatever, nobody says anything, I keep 6ft of distance from people out of courtesy and I handle my business. Nobody cares.

I love when I see fellow non-maskers lol

6

2
Flcentipede [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

The theater could make you leave. Doubt they would, but they have the right to refuse service to anyone. If they told you to leave and you refuse, you are trespassing but I doubt cops would do anything other than tell you to leave. Movie theaters have been hurting bad so I can’t imagine they would kick you out. Disney is completely cucked though so if the theater is owned by them who knows.

1
Smubbs 1 point ago +1 / -0

it's the AMC theater.. i mean they would already have my ticket money. The world is fucking dumb. I could threaten to sue for discrimination against my medical condition preventing me from wearing a mask (theater is also distanced) that they legally can 't ask me about per HIPAA.

1
JeremiahKassin 1 point ago +1 / -0

They won't let you in. Cancel your tickets while you still can. You won't even get past the parking lot.

3
Smubbs 3 points ago +3 / -0

How the fuck is that not discrimination against people’s medical conditions ?

4
JeremiahKassin 4 points ago +4 / -0

It is, and they don't care. I'm pissed too, since I have a medical condition that prevents my wearing a mask. I had annual passes and had to fight like mad just to cancel them since I couldn't attend the parks with their restrictions in place. Disney's taken a more than 6 billion dollar loss pushing this narrative. They don't care about a potential lawsuit from us.

If you want to go after them, have at it. I'll cheer you on. But they'll bury you in legal fees.

1
Flcentipede [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Buy some popcorn and you will be good

4
JeremiahKassin 4 points ago +4 / -0

I've been watching this from the beginning. Used to go to Disney every weekend. They've got checkpoints set up to get in and out of Disney Springs. Temperature checks and mask nazis. They won't let him out of the parking lot.

1
Smubbs 1 point ago +1 / -0

lol some people are saying you have to stuff it under your mask like in cali

3
Bbme19 3 points ago +3 / -0

YAY! Now the only issue is being worried about being kicked out if not wearing one, which . . . Was my main concern anyway. grumbles It still seems like a long road ahead since different places will require different things to enter.

3
Mavdick96 3 points ago +3 / -0

Bro, I'm so tired of these fucking things. I wish my governor was based.... Too bad he's a faggot. Greg Abbott of Texas, FYI.

3
CommietownUSA 3 points ago +3 / -0

Time to visit FL 🇺🇸

3
XirWokeMasterCuck 3 points ago +3 / -0

The local govs can still say you “have “ to wear them. And this will keep many people under their thumb by following a “rule” with no consequences.

My prediction is some based business owners will take the signs and mandates down.

Big corportions will still say you “cant shop here without one”

Definitely a step in the direction of the freedom we have the rights to have

But not “totally free” cause of the brainwashing

1
JeremiahKassin 1 point ago +1 / -0

It's gonna be a mix. But it's a big step toward restoring our rights.

2
MAGAMillenial 2 points ago +2 / -0

LIFT THE MASK ORDINANCE IN LEON COUNTY THEN! IM TIRED IF WEARING FACE BRAS AT WORK.

1
Smubbs 1 point ago +1 / -0

This doesn't mean a business can't turn you away.

1
johnbillaby 1 point ago +5 / -4

Businesses can continue to have whatever dress codes they like, so don't imagine that if a store ejects you for not having a mask that you can retard out on them like a moron. Stores can make up whatever rules they want for what people must wear.

4
SkeletorsTeeth 4 points ago +5 / -1

but can they? isnt that discrimination? as long as you are decent and covered how can they force you?

3
johnbillaby 3 points ago +3 / -0

Businesses can require whatever they want from their customers. They can kick people out of their stores for any reason they want.

4
SkeletorsTeeth 4 points ago +4 / -0

they have much less incentive to now in florida....its like requiring people to wear steel toe boots instead of sandals....makes little to no difference in your safety

3
johnbillaby 3 points ago +3 / -0

Certainly. If any businesses continue to require it other businesses will replace them soon after.

2
sometimescanbefunny 2 points ago +2 / -0

That’s not what happened with the bake the cake argument. They have to bake the cake, they have to accept my maskless self
