KFC was my first job too in high school, then delivering furniture during college, then a warehouse job post college, until I landed my first IT gig. Now I am an IT project manager.
You gotta put in the work nothing is ever handed to you unless you are from an elite family like where's Hunter?
Whats even better about this story is that she kept all her name tags as inspiration. Im sure she was very proud when she was finally able to take this picture
Faye, I love you. In a way that's difficult to express through the internet. I know you. You are my family and my friends. You are America. You are the fighter I always want to win. The underdog that catches a stride and nothing can stop you. You're humble enough to take a menial job to work toward a dream. You do what it takes to get the size of the pie you deserve. And you deserve everything you have worked so hard for. Good for you my friend Faye, Miss America!
agreed, I just got my first actual chef job after working for it for a decade. Its been a slog, but I can finally look people in the eye and say, "I am a chef." And mean it! America is the land of opportunity for those willing to work for it!
america is great for people who want to succeed through personal effort
That's awesome!

I started at Jack-In-The-Box and retired from a director level IT position.
Congratulations on your retirement, I got another 30 years to go haha
Thanks, pede. You will get there.

Fantastic.
I hope Faye Lewis is a pede here with us. Sounds like a great person that doesn't give up.
Memorial Medical is in Illinois.
Average RN salary in Illinois is $73,510.
With her BSN, Faye likely makes a little more.
And with her work ethic, Faye may make a lot more.
Love to see the American dream in action!
People like this could have really used that second wave of covid money. Too bad someone was being a douche.
Keeping America Great
If you're 35 and still working in fast food for minimum wage, then the problem isn't society, the problem is YOU.
Even in fast food if you put in even minimal effort, you'll be an ass't manager within a year.
Or better yet go find a better job after the establish a bit of work history.
Problem is, most "real" jobs drug test....

This Is America!
Faye appears to be quite the bad ass
Sure did find a lot of people names Faye Lewis 🤔
Personally, I'd be more impressed by top scores on her RN exams but that's just me.
Now take 50% of her wage in taxes and give it to some do nothings grifting off the system.
WTG!!!

👏 👏 👏. Good on ya!
Exactly this. Been there before, came through.
That is how my grandmother raised her five children by herself. The American Dream aka the American Opportunity
Can 100% attest that America is the only place you can do this with EFFORT.
