The old game was to get companies to sponsor whatever research they were doing. The things they would come up with were so not novel and usually very half ass or someone else's work polished up as their own. My bosses stopped doing it after about the third time of me quoting where they got their work from or showing how their work was in all ways worse. Usually it would only take 1-2 hours of a very sophomore proof to debunk whatever they were trying to sell or getting out the book they were quoting and show them how to do it better. The new game is to get them to lecture you on actual racist crap to continue to sponsor them. Those nice lake houses do not pay for themselves you know.
