That's crazy. I get the Republican/Democrat thing, but then you have Conservative/Working Families? That's like a leading question, FFS.

It's for federal funding. If a minority party gets, I believe, 6% of the federal vote they get guaranteed funding and a position on the national debate stage.

CatoWasRight [S] 5 points ago +5 / -0

Wait explain this more... so are you saying if the "working families" party get 6% of biden's vote they get on the debates next time? This is the election ballot in NY not a primary ballot.

1
militarysnoopy 1 point ago +1 / -0

Actually it's only 5% of the federal vote. Then yes, they would be eligible to receive federal tax dollars to fund their campaigns, and take part in the national debates along with the Dem and Rep parties.

So it makes sense for these 3rd parties to also nominate the nominees for the big parties, hoping to just pull 5% of the vote into their party to get funding and visibility for the next election cycle.

Just seems like the formatting is very confusing and could be set up in a more intuitive way?! Like list the candidate once, and put all the parties who endorse him under his name.

Dang. What a fucked up ballot.

Why are candidates listed under multiple parties?

If the "Working Families" party does not have their own candidates, why allow them to list Hiden' and Heels Up?

CatoWasRight [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

I seriously cannot figure this out... like someone approved of this design? It makes zero sense... and look at the judges section, WTH is that?

2
TEXinLA 2 points ago +2 / -0

Look at the judges. They are each the Democratic, Republican, and Conservative choice.

Worst ballot ever...

1
20KAG20 1 point ago +1 / -0

It literally makes no sense at all. Choose up to 8? They are all the same in the columns. Is this an actual ballot??

1
NYRepublican72 1 point ago +1 / -0

Welcome to NY. This is every ballot. Minor parties cross-endorse and the judges are all pretty much cross-endorsed. I use that write-in option a lot with the farce of a judge "election" we have.

CatoWasRight [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Wow just seems like a strange way to set up a ballot

1
FuckuSpez 1 point ago +1 / -0

They’ve essentially split the republican vote in two. People will vote in one or the other of the two categories and they will count the lowest one as the true vote. Fucking fraud. Totally insane.

UndercoverSpez 10 points ago +10 / -0

This is why a bunch of first time voters and non first language speakers get their ballots thrown out. Have fun with the chaos America!

DefendTheInnocent 6 points ago +6 / -0

Not to mention they have accused pedophile Brock Pierce running for President.

3
CatoWasRight [S] 3 points ago +4 / -1

His business partner was accused if I remember correctly. He was accused of trying to pick up a 17 year old (somewhere around there) when he was in his 20's, not legal but not quite the same as a pedo.

America_No_1 6 points ago +6 / -0

Working families = Biden? Laughable...since when are Ukrainian oligarchs considered working families?

4
Hedonismbot 4 points ago +4 / -0

The top line is the office, notice how the president/vp slot is 1 column going down?

There are a lot of judges running because on the ballot it says for up to 8. It's not uncommon to have a judge be endorsed by both parties, that happens a lot more often in local politics, when the judge is a good man/woman/xir both parties in a community may endorse them or run on the ticket.

It's not a big deal, you can vote for Trump through the Conservative or Republican Party.

4
CatoWasRight [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

That makes no sense why would you list people multiple times, it's confusing as hell. Even in CA we only list people once.

I_Love_45-70_Gov 1 point ago +1 / -0

Technically, communists aren't people.

New York is the home of the liberal Republicans. They had to form a Conservative party or it was just liberal versus liberal. William F. Buckley was a Conservative party candidate once (mayor?). I would guess Working Families don't do either and are to the left of Lenin.

What the hell is that? They list of Biden as being in support of working families? I guess I should be surprised they don't have Trump as Nazi. It's like a confusing Excel spreadsheet too.

I've never in my life voted in a Democrat dominated place so I guess I shouldn't be surprised they are incompetent and playing games with ballots

Liberty123 2 points ago +2 / -0

Maybe a judge will throw out all ny ballots.

2
vicentezo04 2 points ago +2 / -0

They should use something less confusing like a butterfly ballot

I know here in Oregon we have candidates running under multiple parties, so that's probably the same situation. For example, the Republican running for state rep. in my district is also the Libertarian nominee. We also have Democrats here who are running under the Working Families party as well as Democrat.

2
CatoWasRight [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Seems like such a confusing way to set up a ballot, versus listing the candidate once and putting all the parties who endorse them under one check box?!

Wow, that is what a blue state ballot looks like? This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.

1
CatoWasRight [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

TBF the California ballot is WAY easier to understand, the candidates are listed once on a single sheet. I've never seen anything like this before, other commenters are saying Oregon's is similar.

Simple math: A+D = Biden votes versus the lower of B or C, was this the incongruent we often didn't see in geometry. D equals all of the above?

1
TrumpMagaNoBama 1 point ago +2 / -1

That is the most Fucked-Up POS I have ever seen. Even the Wa State ballots aren't as Cucked-Up as that!

1
knightofday 1 point ago +1 / -0

Purposely made confusing as possible. Cunts

1
GayBoys4Trump 1 point ago +1 / -0

Why is the incumbent not listed at the top

1
CatoWasRight [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

Consensus from commenters is this is how NY always sets up their ballots... each candidate can be endorsed by multiple parties and so are listed as the candidate of each party. Generally NY'ers say they tally all the votes for a candidate together, rather than by party....

I still think this is the poorest formatting I've ever seen on a ballot and I'm from California. Why not list the candidate once then put all the parties who vouch for them under their name?! Seems like that would be far more intuitive and reduce the dreaded "voter disenfranchisement" democrat are always worried about.

1
AnointedVisions 1 point ago +1 / -0

Confusing on purpose.

Dems aren't trying to win this election, they're trying to make it a chaotic mess so they can delay the final decision

1
meta_meta_noia 1 point ago +1 / -0

So what I’m getting from this is that they are hoping is that someone sees the conservative instead of the republican row and fills that row out, thereby taking a vote away from the republicans. The democratic ticket is up top so all the Biden voters won’t bother to keep reading down the ballot, particularly when they see no judges listed.

1
AsaNisiMAGA 1 point ago +1 / -0

New York ballots have always been configured like this. I've voted there for decades.

2
CatoWasRight [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

WOW really? Seems so confusing considering there is so much talk about disenfranchisement. I'm from California our ballots are pretty damned straight forward, the candidates are only listed once in a single column by office with the party who vouches for them listed under their name.

1
AsaNisiMAGA 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yep. I've been voting there, in person, for decades. And they are always organized that same way. I think it's related to funds allocation but I'm not sure.
