There is only ONE Sherlock Holmes and that is Basil Rathbone. And there is only ONE Dr. Watson and that is Nigel Bruce. I have all their movies on VCR and their dialog memorized, too. After they stopped their movies in the 1940s and went on stage, Nigil Bruce died and Basil had to quit the stage performance mid-act just about because he couldnt handle playing opposite anyone else playing Dr Watson. Neither can I. And I say this as someone who read all 1000 pages of the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes tome in 9th grade. Took a while but I made it through.
