A mask's purpose is no different than simply covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze (and covering your mouth is far MORE effective). When they inevitably say "but not everybody does that!", well... not everybody wears a mask properly either. In fact those circles in the venn diagram comparing them are almost perfectly laid over one another.
There is no evidence to support mass asymptomatic spread- the virus needs a way to be put into the air to be transmitted, which can basically only happen if you're coughing or sneezing.
That’s been my argument lately Where are the morgues filling up? Where are the mass incinerated bodies? Where are the full hospitals? Where are the ambulances saying “bring out your dead”? Does life really feel all that different aside from the restrictions? Does this even feel like an emergency? And they are freaking out over rising cases. So if the cases are rising with more people wearing masks than ever, are they really working? Why don’t they want to mention deaths and hospitalizations?
There are legitimate reasons for senior government officials and senior executives of businesses to take more stringent precautions re all kinds of risks, than the general public. E.g. POTUS and VP never travel by air together and rarely travel together at all. Same for the very top executives of large companies, usually per company policy which is rooted not only in common sense, but also in "key man" business insurance policies (which in turn are often required by the company's lenders and bond issuers).
And yet...those sheep behind him are still in masks....tragic.
