There are legitimate reasons for senior government officials and senior executives of businesses to take more stringent precautions re all kinds of risks, than the general public. E.g. POTUS and VP never travel by air together and rarely travel together at all. Same for the very top executives of large companies, usually per company policy which is rooted not only in common sense, but also in "key man" business insurance policies (which in turn are often required by the company's lenders and bond issuers).
