Classical art is a rebellion against the natural order which makes asymmetry, ugliness, and pain. The scale of our world and the forces within it are trivialized in art, which creates within a work it’s own rules and has no theoretical limitations. Classical art strives toward depictions of the ideal, of the world both as it is, as it should be, and most importantly as it should be remembered.
Modern art is a rebellion against classical art. I think you can see where the issue lies.
But the natural order has just that: natural order. Symmetry, pleasure, and beauty are all a part of natural order just as much, if not moreso, than asymmetry, ugliness, and pain. Much classical art is not rebelling against the natural order but highlighting it.
Classical art is a painting of a man eating a banana, nailed to a wall. Modern art is a banana nailed to a wall. Postmodern art is someone eating said banana. Meme art is someone replacing the missing banana with the message "Epstein Didn't Kill Himself". Clown World Art is when police (literally) covered up that "Epstein Didn't Kill Himself".
