I assume you're referring to the man whose real name was Michael King, Jr., not Martin Luther King, Jr.

He didn't call himself by that name until he was almost 30 years old.

Why would you think the CIA had something to do with him changing his name to mimic a revered Protestant historical figure?

If anything the CIA were working overtime to discredit King. They were spying on him all throughout the 60s.
