I believe 100% in the second amendment. I am well-stocked in guns and ammo and I have a copy of my constitution by my bedside, right next to a Glock 21.
This does not mean that Jesus, in this bible verse, was advocating armed conflict.
It’s about preparedness, and Jesus was about to go die on the cross, and leave the disciples on their own without the physical presence of their spiritual guide. So he gave them metaphorical advice on how to prepare spiritually. They already had enough swords as Jesus said, so clearly he was not literally telling them to go buy more swords. It was a spiritual metaphor.
