Well, they deforested their land to make charcoal. Then all the top soil washed away and all that's left is a mostly clay soil. That they literally make cookies out of and eat. Then you may ask, why cant they go fish for food? Well they also polluted their waters all to hell and killed all the coral so it's inhospitable to marine life. Honestly Haiti is of their own creation. We've tried helping 3 times to no avail. We built hundred of miles of roads that are in disrepair. Frankly, Haitians are from another planet. That's the only thing that explains it. Everywhere else in the Caribbean is lush and green. Full of food.
