Even the short radio news segments are not immune from this. Granted they are nowhere close to the extreme and ridiculous levels as the propaganda on cable news, but it's still there. Every story I hear about Trump or republicans in general is described in the most negative way possible, while anything a democrat does is either neutral or talked about in a positive light. It's subtle, but once I noticed it I cannot unsee it.

Why not both? Like me. Of course sitting on the tractor each summer, it was AM radio 1/2 the time and music the other 1/2.

SikoraP13 46 points ago +46 / -0

It's a psychology thing. People crave authenticity. Both of the two of them (well, at least Bernie the first time), as well as Trump, actually believe what they say. We're all tired of the duplicitous snake oil salesman politicians. You can very clearly tell it isn't an act and there's something that resonates in people when you get public servants who actually believe they're out to serve the public. In Bernie's case, he got his shit kicked in by Hillary's people and has been towing the party line every since like a good boi.

19
XERIPHYTE 19 points ago +20 / -1

Bernie had been deepstate all along their plan wasnt dem socialism and now all the dumbass millenials want communism

17

the fact that he capitualted so quickly and easily after getting fucked by his own party is all you need to know about the man. Now owns 4 homes, hasn't held a real job in his life and hasn't redistributed a dime of his own wealth lmao complete spineless fraud

I will never forget the way Hannity and Fox News treated Ron Paul. Sean Hannity will always have a shitstain on his face for the way he treated Dr.Paul. He treated him like a crackpot and spoke about him and his followers as if they were in the KKK. But now he supports everything Dr.Paul used to preach.

33
Thenung89 33 points ago +33 / -0

Yep. That was my redpill, seeing every single media outlet outright ignoring Ron Paul until it was impossible to keep doing so. Then when they had to cover him they would just try to smear him or make him look crazy. Same shit they did to Trump. Ron Paul won that Iowa caucus and those chumps had the balls to lie and say Santorum won.

Rick fucking Santorum. Fuck that guy.

Here's an amazing video showing all the bullshit they put the hero Dr. Ron Paul through during tube 2012 election:

https://youtu.be/si4GaQWmdrQ

Bernie never came close to being treated this poorly. The media loves that piece of shit.

16
Untenablemorass 16 points ago +16 / -0

This was my very first red pill. I was a huge Ron Paul supporter in 2008 and 2012, this is the man that got me to actively learn about and pay attention to politics. Before this I just blindly accepted what the media said and voted democrat because that's what I was told and was all I knew.

Watching the nonstop lies and attacks about Ron Paul is what woke me up. Why would all of these journalists and news orgs work so hard together to ruin this mans reputation? I thought they were trustworthy? What was going on?

Then in 2016 when I noticed they were doing the EXACT same shit with Trump, that's what convinced me probably more than anything else that he might be the right man for the job.

13
Olschoolponcho 13 points ago +13 / -0

That was an original redpill for me too. Made me start to hate neocons.

People forget Bernie 2016 was a lot different than Bernie 2020. And I’m talking about the campaign, not the man. Bernie 2016 actually ran on many of the things Trump and Paul did, namely shit trade deals (TPP/NAFTA), govt corruption, ending wars, middle class financial woes, etc. The socialism bits were icing on a cake, and, at the time, were somewhat justified. “If corrupt shitheads can spend money in the Middle East, why not have free healthcare?” (Still bad but you can see the draw when pivoting from corruption and govt financial issues). This is why so many were drawn to his campaign. Then, when he committed treason and bent the knee to Hildog at the convention - the embodiment of the corruption he had been railing about for the entire campaign - he lost MAJOR support. A large percentage of his following soon realized that he and Trumps message were pretty similar, but that Trump is even better, and they voted for him. Many, many here are from this group, and joined td on Reddit after that cuckening at the convention. This also happened just as Reddit flipped on a dime overnight and politics became a pro hildog chamber for the first time. Then the propaganda began to flow.

Bernie 2020 on the other hand was just that socialism icing and nothing more. Only the commies were left. On top of it all, instead of congratulating trump on his accomplishments that he ran on, Bernie is a POS uniparty jester that peddles fake news.

4

I'll be active in the primaries, but I'm not going to bother if they go back to uniparty politicians, neocons and globalists. Lion Party or GFTO.

Ron Paul is so libertarian he told the ferryman 2 gold drachma would be 9 grams of gold, about $550 at current exchange rates, which is a completely unreasonable tax just for crossing a river, and threatened to set up a private competitor that could do the job better and far cheaper. Deciding this was just too much of a headache to deal with, they sent him back.

For a lot of us it started with the Ron Paul Revolution. It woke us up to deep state corruption. Hell...I was watching CNN until that time and couldn't believe that they didn't support him because he was everything that the dems only gave lip service to. It exposed their false left/right paradigm that they had going on.

7
isitpedanticenough 7 points ago +7 / -0

I was a very conservative young kid, even when I was in elementary school. I grew up paying attention to politics because my Dad did. I was a Rush baby, and well on my way to being a NeoCon, happily voting for GWB when I turned 18.

But illegal immigration and GWB's refusal to enforce the law started to red-pill (if you want your blood boiled look up Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean) me and the media pushing the open borders narrative made the crack larger.

Ron Paul was my introduction to the Fed and monetary policy, pushing me more toward being a libertarian and like you said, blew up the left/right paradigm for me and made it much more about globalism vs. nationalism.

4
ItsTooMuchWinning 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yahoo News showed 1st, 3rd, and 4 places of an event. Skipped Ron Paul.

Fox News producer on a hot mic at a event where hundreds of Ron Paul supporters showed up, says to cameraman “Don’t get those Ron Paul people”

2 hour CBS debate on foreign policy gave only 90 seconds to Ron Paul who at the time had raised more money from military members than all other candidates combined, served on the House Foreign Relations Committee, and was the only candidate with a different plan than “more war”

It was a wake up call to so many of us that the “news” was not real and the deep state ran the show.

Then comes Donald Trump taking out the Bushes, taking out the Clintons, and exposing “Fake News” to the world.

All the enemies Ron had taught us about, Trump came in with the strength fight them.

He is the John The Baptist of our movement.

Truth, Pede. When the elite members of a certain Tribe starts screeching about the term "globalist" being used, that's great evidence that said elitists are behind the Globalist plot to subvert, ruin, and ultimately enslave or exterminate our Country.

I'm not american but Ron Paul was the one that red-pilled me and got me involved in american politics. The MSM did the same thing they do to Trump. Personally I don't think he had as much energy as Trump but nevertheless they ferociously tried to bury him. I'm glad he's still alive and kicking.

He chilled out at the end of his political career.

6
PoppinKREAM 6 points ago +6 / -0

I watch his show every now and then, but even from that awful footage of him stroking out, I couldn't help but appreciate how plainly he speaks about the economy. He doesn't do these long convoluted walkthroughs broken into 14 episodes. Just hits em with "weve gotta liquidate that, its a burden."

I dont even know wtf he was talking about, but just that excerpt gave me the itch to watch the backlog I've built up.

Make the Federal Reserve actually federal.

Hardly any know it is a private entity with very little transparency.

My Jewish friends in Boca Raton, Florida : "Whoa! Whoa! The Fed is OUR THING!"

Me : "That is exactly the problem. No one ethnic group should control the nation's money supply and set interest rates."

Them : "Who invited this Gentile to speak!"

Me : "Let me tell you about my mother..."

RP was my first redpill back in 2007. that was when i switched from being a mindless libtard to registered Republican. i voted for him in the Primary. once i awoke to the Federal Reserve and the Clique of Int'l Financiers who were robbing us, the rest of the red pills were easy.

i still believe RP would have been a top 5 greatest President had he been elected.
