How can they replace him at this point? People have already begun voting in a number of states.

Each state has laws for last minute replacement....generally the party picks through their electors.

If we had direct election of electors, we would have a much more stable and way more interesting presidential election process.

Because you’re voting for the party and their electors. You’re not voting for the names on the ballot.

I'm not sure how it works exactly, but that sounds quite odd to me.

If someone voted for Joe Biden / Kamala Harris, you can't just tell them their vote is now going for someone else who happens to be in the same party.

I don't think that will fly.

That's exactly how it works. We The People do not vote for the President. We vote for Electors who select the President. The DNC can replace the "Nominee" with whomever they want, at any time before the Electoral College votes.

You are voting for electors who are committed to a particular candidate. You can't just change the candidate.

This has never been done before, so I don't think anyone knows how it would really play out. It would obviously wind up in the supreme court.

If it works anything like it does in the primaries with delegates, then we could end up with electors who's votes are going to someone no longer in the race.

I’m pretty sure those votes are still for Biden.

They can't legally replace him anymore. What happens if he drops out and wins is, Biden gets elected President and Harris gets elected VP. When Harris is sworn in as VP, she then is immediately sworn in as President. Harris then picks a new VP which would be confirmed by the Senate. Harris can't formally pick a new VP until after Jan 21.

Exactly. Those votes will NOT count toward any nominee they try to put forward now, even Kamala. Plus, ballots have already been printed.

They are stuck with Biden.

Kamala Harris is Biden's hand-picked successor. If they don't go with her they are admitting that she is not fit to occupy the VP slot and that Joe was a fool to select her.

How can you even think Biden "hand-picked" anyone ?

Harris has been a minion of the same people who installed Obama into our Presidency. She was behind the scenes way back when Obama was fighting Hillary for the Democrat nomination.

One night when Obama had packed audience for an rally he was seen to be "all strung out", a gibbering idiot, every one who saw him knew he was ruined if he went on stage in that condition. They witnessed Obama being taken into a room and the witnesses waited for the cancellation announcement. But then this woman with a black briefcase walked in. She was immediately taken into the room Obama was sequestered in and a few minutes later Obama came out all righty-tighty, zippy do da, lets get this show on the road. That woman was Kamala Harris.

I read the comment of one of those witnesses and my gut told me she was not only evil, but up very high in the cabal that was shoving Obama on us.

And here she is, she couldn't win a single State in the primaries, so they had to find a way to get her past everyone: We The People, Bernie and every other Democrat who tried to win the nomination honestly.

Could be worse situation than a decoy candidate.

Intention may be to not accept the election, regardless of outcome.

In that situation, you have a weak ticket to not interfere with ushering in a new leader, perhaps with a new form of government.

This is very dangerous situation the democrats have set up....hardly even public participation in the nomination process & practically no convention.

Hello H A. How you doing this fine Saturday morning. I see you are still on this Biden will be replaced mantra. I don't even see how, at this point it would even be legal. I don't see how, even if he were to step down that Kamala would take over as the nominee. She was chosen, not elected as his running mate. So if he left the race, she would no longer be his running mate. I am no expert, but logic would dictate that she would have to step aside as well. At least that is my take on the issue.

Court decided after 2016 that the DNC is not obligated to select their candidate in a fair, democratic process.

Stop, this is a dumb narrative. They're ride or dying with him at this point.
