The reaction is key. Good natured best is one thing, but he had not reached the level of rapport that would allow any ball busting. Looks like the crowd was there to be polite.

Most of them looked bored out of their minds. That's why they didn't clap; they didn't hear what he said. They were all likely daydreaming of better places they could be instead of watching a dementia patient try to read words on a screen.

Army vet here. Can confirm. Glazed over many "political dignitaries". I served under Obama, so I was always respectful but I was just there for the food.

they were ordered to be there, had no choice.

I realize that...which is especially when people look bored and start daydreaming of a better place to be. I guess the Left figured out a way to make Biden's appearances even more pathetically boring by forcing people to attend who want no part of being there.

Styx had an interesting take on this, where he’s not intentionally evil. In the military, you talk shit about absolutely everyone and everything (except superiors when they’re in earshot), but that only works because of the camaraderie instilled in the soldiers. Joe’s trying to be part of the group but failing in the awkward manner only Joe can pull off

They probably do, but I think it’s good to provide alternate explanations so we don’t get reverse TDS where Trump’s holy and pure and his opponents are one-dimensionally demented and/or evil

His wife/nurse always has a concerned look on her face like she doesn't know what Joe is going to do next.

What a douche

If I was in that crowd, I would have kept my military composure, but I would probably say under my breath and out loud, "Who the fuck does he think he's talking to?" The only person who can talk to me like that is my 1SG and Commanders.

To be fair, when Obama came to visit us in Afghanistan, most of us didn't really give two shits about him and were more or less pissed because we didn't need to hear his bullshit speeches and ideas about how great his COIN idea was.

Cause in all actuality, it wasn't. COIN was a fucking disaster that costs thousands of men/woman their lives based off 'hearts and minds'.

That was the reason I, along with a Metric SHIT TON of other people got out. The Army lost A LOT of soldiers with URBAN combat experience (ie; fallujah, baghdad, Ramadi) because they could see, as well as me (post deployment) that the Army was getting soft. That whole 15 month deployment was a sham and we would always joke about why we got sent to war with Rifles when we should have been issued fruit baskets. I can go into more detail but I wont.

Just know that Obama is the biggest POS president ever and thanks to him, I was red pilled at 24 years of age because of it.

Nothing will redpill you faster than working for the government because you can literally see the bullshit happening right in front of you.

I loved my country then, I still do but after that shit, I KNOW that the 'Wars on Terrorism' were just a ploy for the military contractors and the military industrial complex to make money of the backs of men/woman who would go to war and die for their country.

Based in your timeline, you are probably a bit older than me. When I graduated high school in 06, I had an Army recruiter at my kitchen table. My Mom freaked the fuck out, and kind of scared me. We were in open conflict, and she knew I would be shipped out. Her reaction really made me second guess what I was doing and I didn't go in. Part of me regrets not serving, but seeing what the ME was truly about, I'm glad. My brother in law went in to Fallujah with the 1st Div 5th Battalion of Marines and has some hearing loss from a road side bomb, and PTSD. He struggles with things you'd never think about I guess, but he is one of my favorite people.

My point is, I really appreciate what you did. When you were asked to go, you answered the bell. I do agree with you, though, on the war itself and it breaks my heart that many didn't make it back.

Yeah, I was infantry as well. The men who trained me had multiple tours to Iraq after 9/11 another one was in one of the biggest firefights in Army history in the Korengal Valley.

3 IED blasts,15months and two purple hearts later I reach out to them from time to time to thank them for smokin my balls off when I was a boot fresh out of basic. Them teaching me everything they know and how to do my job to the best of my ability (and also a little luck) is the reason why I'm still alive and back home in the country I love the most.

Sadly, a lot of them got out after our deployment in '11 because the army was basically sending us to wars with our hands tied behind our backs. Lots of good soldiers died cause of that shit.

Tell your brother in law I said 'Semper Fi.'

  1. The media pushed a story about trump with no evidence... now we have undeniable video proof of Biden disparaging troops. This video will sway more people than the Atlantic ever could.

  2. No one is wearing masks REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Just wait till his dementia has progressed to the point that his handlers have to pray to Satan he doesn't start stripping in public and flinging poo from his diaper.

That soldier beside Jill gave him a weird look when he said y'all must be slow here man. Heh

I have incredibly good judgment. One, I married Jill [who is standing next to him], and two, I appointed Johnson to the academy. I just want you to know that. [silence] Clap for that, you stupid bastards! Man, you are a dull bunch. Must be slow here, man.

I don't know who Johnson is, but this was a 'manly' setup of respect-the-wife who was right beside him. When his remark was met by silence he was personally embarrassed in front of his wife and turned on the 'offensive' to the crowd to cover for it. Seems understandable, and these are not snowflakes.

If they had been WWII or Viet Nam era soldiers the presence of the woman in the room and the 'setup' would be recognized and would have been an immediate good natured uproar, who ever she was. Joe showing his age assuming this stereotypical response would carry into modern times. I'm sure it would still happen but he probably had just bored them to sleep.
