I don’t know, I am not convinced that Sleepy Joe isn’t faking it. The way he answered this was actually perfect for spreading FAKE NEWS on social media. Notice the lie that they would want to spread is delivered strongly and clearly - the initial statement - and then the correction is bumbled and scattered. This allows Democrats and the corporate media to chop the lie out and use it in ads or viral videos or their late-night comedy shows. The correction is useless because it is fumbled and not a clean sound bite. Biden has done this so many times now that I think it may be a tactic.
Also, I continue to think he is faking dementia and senility to a) provide Democrats the option of a candidate swap, and b) avoid prosecution for his crimes. I think Mueller is using this same strategy. “You cannot hold a man with dementia accountable for his crimes! Just let him go live in peace on his private island with his wife and child sex slaves!”
my theory is that he's faking his dementia to bring down expectations for the debates and throw Trump off. Plus media will carry water for him and even a half decent performance will be called "best debater ever".
I’ve worked for several years with patients at various stages of dementia and patients who gotten it at various ages and life stages. Those who get it around 50-75 who are still working have certain similar patterns that happen. They typically will enter into deep denial and if they family relies on them for money or prestige they will enable that denial and do everything they can to maintain the fiction that a functioning human is still there. The patient becomes increasingly irritable and depressed as they know something is wrong and know that they are suffering, they maintain this illusion until it all comes crashing down one or another.

In reality I'm pretty sure he's just an old dude whose lost his mental acuity. Totally ordinary at his age.
