Could have been trying to chase someone off who was accosting him. That's the most likely scenario given the context.
Bottom line is: This was obviously confrontational, and they were trying to block this guy from leaving. When you refuse someone the ability to retreat from an altercation, you give him license to do whatever he has to in order to escape.
Totally agree, but from the video it seems like it went:
Driver A gets out of the car, and switches with Driver B. Driver A then just walks away into the crow. Weird, and can't be that threatening if they are waltzing in and out of the car.
Driver B jolts forwards for unknown reasons, pushing into the crow, which in turn causes ...
Crowd to go wild, turn on car and smash back window, which in turn causes ...
Second plowing into crow, which is where I agree they gotta get the fuck out of there.
So we need more context for what lead to 2), because it would shift most of the blame for what happened thereafter.
I want to know this:
were they deliberately stopping vehicles to execute the drivers? Acting like the rioters? That's the only comparison that matters here.
If not, then Yorba Linda is the first place we wipe out.
No, in the video there is a switch in drivers (no idea why) and a second later they are plowing through people.
Extremely sus if you ask me.
If an angry mob surrounds you and tries to block you from leaving, you have every right to feel threatened.
If you feel threatened then why did you get out of the car? You've got to be a complete idiot to do that.

You answers are clear after watching videos of the incident.
I did watch the video, I can’t see what happened.
I don’t know if there was a clear exit for the car in question or if they were completely closed in.
There are multiple videos, one shows a clear path behind her.
So what? Don’t block cars and get surprised when they run into you.
