Believe that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. Salvation is through BELIEF, not repenting. Repenting is your service to Christ after salvation. Repenting is a work, and we are not saved through our works. As the Bible says.
This isn't a Protestant belief. This is a wrong belief or set of actions across many denominations for thousands of years, starting with the first Christians. Or "Christians"?

Based on the chapters and verse I mentioned earlier, I would find it surprising to find as many catholics as protestants (or any other sect, denomination, "apostolic succession") that are truly Christians.
