My point is that my statements are not based on scripture, they are based on what I would respect in an authority figure.

An entity who forbids repentance for all of eternity is not deserving of respect, therefore I chose to believe that assertion is false. If that is sinful, so be it. I will not change my heart based on threats of violence.
