Agree or disagree, he clearly has been motivated by trying to "keep the court out of politics". That is why he first swung on the Obamacare case. He is worried that if the Supreme Court stuck down a popular health care law, Obama would have reacted by ignoring the court and starting the end of the court as we know it. Similar issue with DACA, he votes to strike it down and the court ceases to exist in the liberal mindset.
