It is a legal form of select-fire that allows you to set the safety switch to "giggle" mode and have a round discharge when you depress the trigger, as well as when the trigger resets. Effectively, it allows you to fire faster than full auto but at a modular rate of fire specific to your comfort and skill. People regularly outrun the bolt shooting binaries too fast. Also, you can safe the weapon after the trigger has been depressed and cancel the reset shot, to prevent uneccessary rounds from being fired.
A PDW is a personal defense weapon. Put that bad boy on a one-point sling and wear it like a fashion accessory. A pistol with a drum and a binary trigger, and a "blade" for support is a pretty nasty conceal carry, especially during the winter when you can wear a big coat. Even open carry would be pretty legit. If you carry a sidearm for backup that takes the same mags (do those take Glock mags? I forget), you have a perfect pair.
Get you a G19X or anything that takes the same mags for that matter, your preference. Being able to interchange mags is a very handy tactical advantage. Carry a couple 33 rounders and you have a major force multiplier that fits in a shoulder rig, belt or even back pocket.
Mosins, aka garbage rods, are decent, straight shooters as long as the throat/rifling isn't clapped out on the barrel. 54R is a great hunting cartridge, and a man-stopper at 2-300 yards no problem as long as you can handle irons. They used to be a dime a dozen but nowadays no gun is cheap, nor the ammo. I'd say anywhere from 150-300 depending on the condition of the weapon, from trash to flawless.
I could be wrong, I haven't had my finger on the pulse of gun purchases lately.

/r/gunaccessoriesforsale and pick up a gently used Vortex Strikefire II for the same price. They’re nigh indestructible. Heavier than the Romeo5, with no shake awake (best Romeo5 feature imo), but it takes a lot to put them down.

Welcome. Also be sure to get a picatinny rail mount for the underside of the handguard. Amazon sells a billion brands of them. Make sure to measure the length you need.
Usually a barrel swap. Maybe a mag swap. Bolt swap. All depends on what you want to run. Not every caliber is going to run in a standard AR15 lower receiver. 300 Blackout is one of the easiest as it uses the same mags and BCG as your typical vanilla AR in 5.56. Just don't get your mags mixed up (label em).
For my AR pistol in 7.62x39: 10.5 inch barrel, enhanced firing pin, 7.62 bolt, wolf hammer spring upgrade and C-Products magazines. No reliability issues so far and I LOVE it's compact profile.
