Look up Binary trigger systems. It is a legal form of select-fire that allows you to set the safety switch to "giggle" mode and have a round discharge when you depress the trigger, as well as when the trigger resets. Effectively, it allows you to fire faster than full auto but at a modular rate of fire specific to your comfort and skill. People regularly outrun the bolt shooting binaries too fast. Also, you can safe the weapon after the trigger has been depressed and cancel the reset shot, to prevent uneccessary rounds from being fired.
A PDW is a personal defense weapon. Put that bad boy on a one-point sling and wear it like a fashion accessory. A pistol with a drum and a binary trigger, and a "blade" for support is a pretty nasty conceal carry, especially during the winter when you can wear a big coat. Even open carry would be pretty legit. If you carry a sidearm for backup that takes the same mags (do those take Glock mags? I forget), you have a perfect pair.
Get you a G19X or anything that takes the same mags for that matter, your preference. Being able to interchange mags is a very handy tactical advantage. Carry a couple 33 rounders and you have a major force multiplier that fits in a shoulder rig, belt or even back pocket.
