I cringe whenever I hear him talk about the miraculous unicorn vaccine coming out very soon.

I’m a 35 year old healthy person and I will NEVER take that shit, nor will my kids or wife.

Is this just what he thinks the public wants to hear? He’s mentioned he would rather take therapeutics before a vaccine.

Is this some kind of jedi mind trick he’s playing? Help me understand!!!

MMMMMkay, so you are too young to know what it's like to have seen polio or lockjaw or rabies in the family, to have your adult spouse desperately ill from having caught mumps from the kids, and you don't know any full-grown adults who were institutionalized because their mother had measles when she was pregnant.

On top of that, you imagine you are automatically immune to this disease because you're only 10 years outside the almost-unaffected range. I sincerely wish you luck with that, because surviving is not the same has being asymptomatic, and people in your age group can and do get miserably ill.

Vaccines work against infectious diseases very well. This one is being pushed out fast because the disease is novel, which means we are going to all eventually get it, and fortunately for us, it is likely to be more amenable to a vaccine than the flu, but is also deadlier than the flu for some groups of people.

I plan on taking it, after all the medical people and the people in long-term care facilities, and those with co-morbidities other than age.

In the interim, I take C (1g) and D (7,000IU) daily, along with a multivitamin that includes small amounts of selenium and zinc.

I have on hand zinc (95mg) and quercetin (500mg), as well as hydroxychloroquine (20 tablets). If I go to an event, or if I get a sniffle, I begin with a 5-day course of zinc and quercetin. If I'm not well in 5 days, I consult with my doctor. If I test positive for COVID-19, it will be zinc plus hydroxychloroquine and a Z-pak, again a 5-day course of treatment.

Maybe I will be one of the really unlucky ones, because of my age and my history of pneumonia and I am thoroughly deconditioned due to the lockdown (thanks, Governor Newsome). Then again, I think I have a very good shot at avoiding the statistics, altogether.

There is more than one way to skin this cat, and if you are hell-bent on not taking this vaccine, then you should prepare, in consultation with your doctor, to get infected and have it treated early. It is a very good idea to talk to your doctor ahead of time, because some of them don't want to use drug treatments for this disease until the patient is at death's door. You do not need to get sick first, and then find this out.
