In a plea deal on Sept. 12, 2012, Myers entered an Alford Plea to robbery and the other charges were dropped. If ALL he was doing to cause the arrest was peaceably assembling, I’m still pissed off, regardless of his past or political affiliation. I do think there might be more to the story though, but if it is really what the news article says, it is unconstitutional as fuck.

Are you drunk? I never asserted he was an angel and had no idea who he was and that wasn't in the article I responded to. I assumed since it wasn't mentioned in this post this was an isolated case and was horrified that an emergency order violation that is at odds with a persons constitutional rights could lead to such a stiff sentence. He should have been in jail sooner and longer for his multiple offenses, but throwing parties is the absolute least of the terrible stuff this guy has done and probably not what he should be prosecuted for.

But I also think he shouldn't have been out of prison yet, seeing as how he plea-bargained his involvement in an armed robbery and murder (apparently he was the getaway driver for a group who tried to rob a bartender carrying home the night's receipts) down to a 15-year suspended sentence.
