The original Bren 805 has a massive following... the BREN 2 is the retail version1. I have not held it - looks nice. And CZ has an excellent reputation.
If you want a folding stock AR... try a SIG MCX ... or you could go old school with a Ruger Mini 14... but you have to find the right stock.
I already have an AR. I want to build a quality combat rifle though. I’m torn between a quality AR (BCM, Daniel defense, etc...) and CZ Bren 2. Czech military uses the Bren 2 in a 14” configuration so it has me intrigued. I also have a lot of respect for CZ after owning the scorpion and CZ 75. I’m just thinking that the Bren 2 is very expensive and heavier than an AR. I already have an AK with Magpul furniture that weighs 10 pounds and a lighter AR and notice the weight makes a huge difference in handling

Just me, but I would go with a skeletonized AR10 set up (7.62) - with a red dot at 45 degrees and a small 3x9 up top...
If you go with the Bren, make sure the mags are not 'factory only' or you will have to drop hundreds to get just a handful of mags.
