I never understood boycotting places, and that includes when I here people on here talk about it. If a product is good, I have no problem tuning out the politics.
I won't boycott a business or a celebrity or movie simply for being liberal or supporting a different candidate than me, however if they go out of their way to publicly advertise and bash the president or conservatives in a hateful way, I will absolutely avoid them.
I get where you're coming from, but I don't know if the answer to our toxic, divisive political divide is to ignore or hide from it.
It's fucked up that businesses have a free-pass to blast their lefty politics in our faces, but to have even a small MAGA hat is to face boycott and even arson.
At some point though, I feel like we need to normalize and push back against those who are trying to shame conservative beliefs, we can't and shouldn't be hiding from the left. We have to get back to a place of mutual respect and civility, and we need to be able to talk to each other and unite as a country. We can't let them shame us into silence.
I agree with you, but the problem is, the Left does not extend us the same courtesy. Corporations therefore conclude that the logical business decision is to kowtow to the Left. If we don't want to walk an ever-narrowing path, at some point we will need to fight fire with fire.
There are certain times when it is best to take the high ground over your enemies and follow principle.
e.g.
Censorship and free speech. When the left censors the right, we don't censor them back.
Riot and violence. When the left commits violence, we hold ourselves back from committing violence.
There are times however, where the only effective way is to fight fire with fire.
I believe with this is the way to go with cancel culture.
Otherwise good people will lose their livelihoods and will be forced to submit to the left ideology.
It is also insulting to know that the money you used to support a product ends up supporting causes against you
e.g. money donated to rioters' bailout funds.

Lol this is why China is now a serious threat.
China will say anything then does the opposite.
That sounds just like a liberal.
China is a serious threat because I eat at a super liberal sandwich shop in florida every week? I am so sorry I had no idea.

Is it too much to ask that my meal not have a politcal opinion.

Depends on the situation but I know what you mean.
