Cats get such a bad rap around here. The best person I ever knew was my cat who passed n 2017. I adopted another one a few months later because I can't remember a time in my life where we didn't have at least one around.

As for the rest, they're not such a big deal. Who likes cleaning as long as it's done and the male in the relationship is allowed to be the better cook.

The most worrying thing about this is the one item on the list not circled. "I work all the time, " suggesting that she's unavailable and won't make room for a partner.

Why this person decided to focus on the qualities about herself that she feels lackluster in, though, and then ask about the reasoning of her status is the real kicker.

Cats are awesome. Cat people on the other hand can be quite worrying. Just like some dog people.

As soon as you go into the "my pet is my baby" or "i'm a cat mommy/daddy" you went off the far end.

I always liked my parents' cats. And I think all of them liked me too (they come for cuddles/pets when I visit). But they are still animals. They exist because they give us good feelings. Do I value their lives immensely? Yes. Has my family paid over $1000 for a pet operation? Yes.

But the amount of people who are crazy is higher around cats. Crazy cat lady stereotypes exist for a reason.

So much this.

Drives me fucking nuts when people refer to animals as fur babies. I have two kids and a dog, guess which one is lowest on the totem pole if the house catches fire? Me, but the dog is getting saved last.

People with "fur babies" are no different to children that like to play House.

While they're larping as adults, they're never expected to BE adults.

I have no shame admitting I'm a cat person, but that's not to say I don't like dogs. I've been lucky to have two so far in my life. : )

Cat people may statically be crazier than dog people, but the craziest people of all hate animals.

Dog people have a synonym, it's just not as widely used.

Crazy Dog Man

"Similar to crazy cat lady, Single Man over 30 who chooses to remain single and live with dogs rather than a woman." -Urban Dictionary

The Simpsons even have a character created for that.

My dog is my alarm system, body guard, food roomba, and exercise companion.

First off,

The best person you ever knew is a person not a cat. Secondly, no one likes cleaning, but making it a point to say you don't like it shows you probably don't do it enough. Third, a man is the greatest cook on Earth as of this moment (Gordon Ramsey has more Michelin stars than any other person)...

All that being said, the world hasn't gotten better since we stopped holding women accountable for being able to do these things. It's gotten way fucking worse. There is nothing wrong with a woman fulfilling a traditional role.

In fact, as a man I pretty much chose my spouse based on that criteria and it's worked out far better than all my previous relationships obviously.

I'm confused why you seemed to take such offense to my comment. I blame the internet.

First, don't get so mean over the cat thing. Dogs get to be a mans "best friend", so i will say that about my cat being the best person ever. F off if you don't like it. It gets the point across to people that I describe her to that she was very special to me and the sweetest thing ever. A lot of times cats are hated on because they can be mean. Mine was precious.

Second, I said the cleaning thing is obviously not liked by anybody as long as it's done.

Third, I said that the male in the relationship is allowed to be the better cook. Why are you bringing your dearly beloved Gordon Ramsey into this?

Lastly, I never said anything bad about a woman fulfilling a traditional role. I actually pointed out that the worst thing on the list is that she states she works all the time, which suggests that she won't make time for a partner or a family.

Congratulations. I think it's a good thing to have standards and expectations. Some should never be compromised, especially if it means so much to you.

My Cat was a little darling as well, and she passed in 2017 too. It was so rough on me as we had been through loads together. No matter what she was always there, adoring me. Even came running when she was called, like a dog.

I now have a big grumpy girl who is scarily intelligent and can be affectionate when she wants to be, and a little calico who is dumb as a brick but super sweet and gentle.

Aww. They both sound adorable. My sweet cat did the same thing if you called her. : )

We had a calico, before, too, but yours sounds a lot friendlier. Lol.

I take offense because people equating their cats and dogs to actual people is why we need a border wall in the first place.

People replaced having kids with having pets and now we are losing a demographic war for the heart and soul of our nation. Am I being dramatic? Maybe a little bit, but my point stands.

Stop treating pets like they are your kids. They are animals, and they will eat your corpse if you die and no one is there to feed them.

I don't dress my animals in tootoos or do anything to treat them as my kid, other than talk in a squealy voice like any other human on the planet does.

You are being dramatic.

Bunnies > cats and dogs. I have a flemish giant (feel free to look that up) and she lives to go for walks and always gets us some attention

Bunnies are food. You don't see me walking a cornish game hen down the street.

Probably a great conversation starter if you did.
