No knocks should not be a thing at all, due to human error, addresses can get mixed up. If you're not taking down a warehouse full of terrorists or arms traders, you fucking knock, and produce your fucking warrant. Until americans are convicted in a court of law, or are caught red handed in the act, they have rights!

No knocks mainly exist to preserve evidence that would normally be destroyed if the resident was aware the police were at the door.
