What they're not used to are people who haven't been career politicians their whole lives. Career politicians, Biden, Clinton, Obama, their taxes are carefully crafted because tax returns are common fodder during campaigns. They have less incentive to pay as little taxes as possible, they instead want to pay just the right amount of taxes. Enough that American voters see the number and think "wow look how much they paid in taxes" and whichever politician paid more wins. Normal people try to pay as little taxes as possible because we have no incentive to pay the goldilocks tax because there's no return for us. I challenge anybody to look at Obamas taxes since leaving office, I'm willing to bet he's a businessman now.
