Companies like Google and Trump/any multiple billion dollar company can't even be audited well. They have so many transactions going on around the world that it's impossible to accurately determine what is really happening. These companies also have better accountants then the IRS. They use strategies that we can't understand. These type of accountants are the ones writing the tax laws and they write in flaws that they can exploit. It isn't fair/right or just but it's the system we have. Should Google pay nothing in taxes because they just keep expanding? Should Bezos only pay capital gains rates? I don't think so. I think they should have to pay fully like everyone else on some portion of their income. First 10/100 million at the highest rate then they can take the rest as capital gains. If you make all of your income from capital gains it's your GD pay.

Or just a consumption tax and no income tax. Therefore there is no reason to even hide money because taxes only come out when you buy things. So even crackwhores will be paying taxes when they buy anything other than crack.

The problem with a valued added tax is we'll never get a rip and replace of income tax, they'll just stick us with the VAT as well. I was shocked when I looked up what Europeans pay in taxes. Unless I read it wrong, in Germany my income tax rate would be 42%, with a 19% VAT on top of it. But their healthcare is free amirite?
