It's really sad, because back when I was still playing WoW like a decade ago, "Barrens chat" was practically like 4chan. You'd get all sorts of interesting characters engaging in all sorts of unfiltered shit-talking and stream-of-consciousness stuff to pass the time. The joking and trolling and memes were great. From what I hear, it's pretty much gone now. Everything in that game has been sanitized and censored by the new woke Blizzard.
Man I was in Serenity Now when all that went down, a bunch of us got "I crashed the pixel funeral" shirts made. Fun fact, guild leader got several magazine interviews where people thought it was hilarious if in poor taste. I miss old school internet :(
