Well the KKK is because it's the left's "white supremacy boogeyman". It's like a collective catch-all for who the left thinks are "White Supremacists". Basically they think any right-wing protests that confront their AntifaBLM foot soldiers have to be members of the KKK (Proud Boys, people like that). It's the left's effort to deflect that the KKK is their invention, not ours.
Why not BLM? Because there are still far too many smoothbrains hardwired to think "Black Lives Matter" = Black Lives Matter, Inc. They can't see the difference between the Marxist terror organization and the assertion that black people's lives have worth. If he were to formally designate them a terror group it might piss off people we're trying to convince to vote for him since a lot of them either outright ignore the violent riots and blame it on "white agitators" or still think BLM is "peaceful".
