I think that one was an attempted joke. If they were smart, they would have had him doing more of that in the preceding months. Then once he starts babbling about the 13 gorillion killed by gun violence or some such shit, they could try to pass it off as "just a joke,man".

But we know they aren't that smart. They're going to give him the speedball. Like putting nitrous on a car missing one front wheel.
